Choosing for someone else is a promise made in public.
The hardest thing about a gift is not choosing it. It is not having to explain it afterwards.
The Vow Box is built so that you do not have to. Two pieces from the collection, a message written by hand in ink on the house card — we do the calligraphy, you dictate the words — and the envelope, sealed in wax, which does not belong to you.
Because here is the part few understand: you give the object, but the ritual remains hers. The promise she writes and seals belongs to her alone. You opened the threshold. The fourth thread is spun by the one who wears it.
When it is fulfilled, we engrave the date on the reverse. And you will be, a year from now, the only person who knows where it began.
